HWRoundup So, the game of one-upmanship continues between Chip and Chimpzilla. Intel releases the Celeron 800MHz (with its shiny new FSB) and before we can all blink AMD comes out with the Duron 850.

Not surprisingly, the good doctor Tom has seen fit to provide us with his thoughts on the matter which you can read here. The new Duron may not be particularly surprising or even exciting according to Tom, but it is "anything but a failure."

Gamers Depot also take a look at the latest offering from AMD. How does the new Duron 850 stack up against the new Celery (this part is conjecture) and perhaps more interestingly, how does it compare to its predecessors? Click

Anand has given the new chip the once over too, and he isn't exactly full of glowing words of praise. It seems that the days of kneejerk praise for AMD, just because it isn't Intel, could be drawing to a close. So, Anand reckons the really interesting stuff from the combatants in the value sector is yet to come, and that what we are really waiting for is a Duron based on the Morgan Core. Meanwhile, click

Ars Technica gives its stamp of approval to 3DRage's look into Quantum Computing - known to be a tricky subject. Don't know about you, but everyone I talk to about QC has a different explanation, which is appropriate I suppose, given the subject. Check out 3D Rage's explanation

Aces Hardware got sent a 128 MB PC1600DDR DIMM from Micron. They reckon it overclocks rather nicely. Go
