Updated PepsiCo's UK Web site has been hacked and an anti-globalisation message and pic posted. Unsurprisingly, the hack wasn't up for long but it was posted to Attrition, so you can see it in all its glory there.

Why are we reporting it? Because this looks like a genuine case of someone hacking for an assumed cause. There is no ego-boosting message and no name was sent was to Attrition to claim responsibility and glory. We're sorry, but a lot of hackers hide behind a supposed message to justify the essential buzz of breaking into a site.

We're not going to judge, we just rate honesty and integrity over self-aggrandisement. The message posted was as follows (shame about the final-line spelling mistake):

multinational corporations
genocide of the starving nations

multinational corporations
make their profit from the starving nations
indigenous people become their slaves
from their births to their graves

multinational corporations
take their profit from the starving nations
another product for you to buy
you'll keep on paying untill you die

Update

Okay, okay, so the minds of many are greater than a few. We obviously have no Napalm Death fans at The Reg (Rob, our heavy metal correspondent, is on holiday) because the words on the hack are from the band's song, titled, strangely Multinational corporations.

The second "l" is also, apparently, an error that was on the original lyric sheet, taken from the first album "Scum". The image is also the album cover.

Worse than that though, in the source code, the hacker has left a name (and instructions to admin). "!!modu1e!!rox!!your!!world!!" it says. And so the main thrust of this story is left wanting. Perhaps it was a case of wishful thinking from this reporter.
