Ingram Micro has filed a lawsuit against people who dissed the distie on a Yahoo! message board. The company wants the posters to stop publishing sensitive information and allegedly libellous comments about the company, Ingram Micro has subpoenaed the Yahoo! to supply the names of the posters, one of whom goes under the moniker "ingramsucks".

Enta Technology, the Telford-based hardware distributor and Microsoft DSP, has made its first acquisition - but it hasn't ventured very far: the company it has bought, software distie Datacom Micro, lives in the same town.

Dimension Data, the giant networking reseller, saw turnover leap 71 per cent to $1942.6m (£1357.3m) for the year to 30 September. UK sales were up 88 per cent to $311.1m (£217.4m). However, the company fell into the red, making a pre-tax loss of $50.7m (£35.4m), compared with a PBT of $138.2m (£96.5m) for the year before.

The losses were incurred through the sale of assets disposed of, following the purchase of Comparex, the South African reseller and through costs incurred by the closure of GK, a loss-making UK subsidiary.

Tech Data Europe has recruited Henrik Funch from GE Capital IT Solutions to run the company's Northern Europe operations. Funch, latterly the boss of GECITS in the UK, will take charge of Tech Data ops in the UK, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates. ®
