Mice maestro Logitech has reported a 43 per cent Q2 sales surge to $190 million.

The good result is down to the company freeing itself from the new PC sales market, where its mice are bundled with the latest boxes, and branching out into making other peripherals.

PC video cameras and game control devices have done well for the company. Retail sales now account for 70 per cent of its business.

The strategy has also boosted profitability with net income for the quarter rising 81 per cent to $9.4 million. Gross margins stand at 33.7 per cent.

The company has sold 300 million mice worldwide. It has an installed base of seven million for its wireless devices. ®
