A fortnight after Freeswerve announced it was booting out 700 users because they were abusing its unmetered service, the ISP is set to receive a taste of its own medicine.

For the London Stock Exchange is due to announce on Monday that Freeswerve just isn't up to it any more and is unable to carry on mixing in the same circles as the "big boys". For that, it will be booted out of the FTSE 100 and kicked out of the high-flying premier league of British companies.

Its crime, it seems, is just not being worth as it used to be. At one point earlier this year Freeswerve was running at 900p a share - today, and with less than an hour to go before the Stock Exchange closes for the day, it was riding low at 158p. ®
