Lastminute.com sucks, according to those discerning and well-educated readers of the Telegraph.

A poll of 6,000 readers carried out as part of the newspaper's annual travel awards found that the bucket hols etailer was the "worst travel website on the internet".

Lastminute.com attracted more "poor" votes than any other site, the newspaper said.

Expedia - M$'s travel e-outfit - was voted the best Web site.

What's more, half of those who took part in the survey said they had ordered all, or part of their holiday online - so they should know a thing or two.

That said, it's unlikely that Allan Leighton, the new chairman of Lastminute.com, will be bothered by the survey.

As a man who lists Morris dancing among his interests, he'd probably say, "pull the other leg, it's got bells on" - and he'd be right. ®
