Keith Warburton has unleashed his European extension of UK PC builder trade group the Personal Computer Association (PCA).

The European Federation of the IT Industry (EFITI) aims to represent system builders, resellers, component vendors and distributors and give them a collective voice in Brussels. It's a tough job - Warburton reckons there are more than 50,000 of them in Europe - but somebody's got to do it.

As well as giving smaller computer companies a bit more clout with the powers that be in the EU, they will also get a chance to swan off to networking events at IT trade shows on the continent - the first of which will kick off this autumn.

Warburton first revealed his plans for European domination at the Integrator Forum in Monte Carlo in May. It will be funded through a combination of sponsorship - from industry heavyweights such as AMD and 3dfx - and annual membership fees from members of between E2500 and E7500. ®
