Oh dear oh dear oh dear. They keep on falling for them. The latest company to do a boo-boo on virus hoaxing is HSBC Insurance Brokers Ltd. We've been sent a copy of an email from their tech support helpdesk warning employees to be on the lookout for "Wobbler", the "Win A Holiday" email, and the newest of the bunch - the "Budweiser Frogs Screen Saver".

Quite apart from some of these being old enough to be catalogued in the fossil record, we think any techies worth their salt would know to check a virus warning. So, as a favour to the helpdesk at HSBC Insurance, we went over to Network Associates site and searched through their library of viruses.

This is the confirmation that "Wobbler" is a hoax. Both the Budweiser Frogs and the enchantingly titled Win A Holiday are there too.

But we think that the cutest part of all this is the warning on the Bud Frogs one: "Your hard drive will crash and someone from the Internet will get your screen name and password!" Someone from the Internet. Ah, bless.®
