Dear Dr Spinola

Please help me, I appear to have rather rashly purchased an Intel 820 motherboard...

As a doctor, I am often asked why people buy computer hardware that turns out to be totally unfit for the purpose for which it was obtained. There is a medical term for this malady - Incomptens Nervosa Technicii Cretinal disease, commonly known as INTC. The ailment takes many forms, but there is currently a particularly virulent strain, variant 820, causing panic around the world. The disease is believed to have originated in Santa Clara in the US, and has subsequently caused a major epidemic around the Pacific RIMM.

The only known cure is to remove the offending component surgically and perform a transplant from a donor system. Medical opinion is currently divided on the question of whether INTC will ever become curable.

Dear Dr Spinola

You do not appear to have answered my question, but instead entered into a badly written, thinly-veiled rant pouring scorn on Intel's highly-skilled chipset designers.

Dr Spinola replies

Trust me, I'm a doctor. ®
