A hardware site is claiming that Intel is satisfying demand for the soon-to-disappear Pentium III/450 by underclocking parts graded for 600MHz. According to the Overclocker's Workbench, it has obtained a 450MHz part which runs satisfactorily at 600MHz. However, it is as well to remember that Intel is only likely to guarantee its microprocessors at the grade it sells them at, despite any similarity between the innards of the part.
