Apple reportedly inks deal with American Express for its iPhone payments system

To bonk, or not to bonk. That is the question

Apple has reportedly agreed to work with American Express on its new iPhone 6 payment system - which is now just nine days away from being unveiled by Cupertino.

The latest rumour once again springs from the Re/Code blog, which cites those ever reliable (or not so much) sources familiar with the situation.

But there will be room for other providers to muscle their way into a separate deal with Apple ahead of it unleashing the company's payments plans.

iPhone 6 info is continuing to leak out. Back in July, The Information reported that Visa was working on a payments system with Apple.

Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly not planning to unleash a wearable device at its iPhone 6 event on 9 September. When the iWatch does eventually arrive, rumours suggest it could carry a $400 price tag. ®
