Ex-Apple man Sam Sung - for it is he - sticks namebadge on eBay

Life must have been pretty tough as the only Apple employee named after the fruity firm's arch enemy. But don't feel too bad for Sam Sung of Vancouver, Canada, because he's set to make a small fortune simply by selling his Apple name badge.

Mr Sung must be singing happy songs right now, because bidding on an eBay auction for his ID badge has soared to more than $6,000 after just two days. With eight days to go, this could prove to be among the priciest business cards in history.

The money's not going to go into Sam's pocket, though, because all the funds raised will be donated to Children's Wish - a charity that "grants wishes to sick children".

Sam Sung wrote: "I had a great time working for Apple and would recommend it to anyone. I hope my old business card will go to another fellow Apple enthusiast with a sense of humour and the desire to help raise some money for a good cause."

The money gets you Mr Sung's business card as well as his easypay necklace, which allowed him to take card orders from the shop floor. Both are collected in a cheap looking frame packaged with an equally cheap-looking Apple staff t-shirt.

Mr Sung was delighted to see bidding shoot up at such a rate and tweeted:
