Office 365, SQL Server, Azure: If your biz uses them, Microsoft has an invitation for you

Join a few sessions from the comfort of your desk

Promo IT decision makers and doers, do you need to learn more about Microsoft Office 365, SQL Server 2014 and Azure? Microsoft UK has just the ticket for you: an all-day event called Accelerate Your Insights on 1 May.

The gig physically takes place at Microsoft Campus, Thames Valley Park, Reading, but it is being streamed too, so you can dip in an out of the sessions from the comfort of your work PC.

Here is a link to the registration event containing all the session details.

There are three tracks:

  • Self-service Business Intelligence
  • Enterprise Information Platform
  • Modern Business Applications

In the Self-service BI track, Microsoft will parade its software’s BI capabilities - and a standout for us will be a peek at Power BI for Office 365. (The Register is prepping a review of this product – expect publication in a few weeks). Also Jabil Circuits, the giant supply chain manufacturer, is on hand to discuss its experience with self-service BI.

The Enterprise Information Platform is where we'll be talking about Big Data, which on Planet Microsoft means SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse, Hadoop hook-ins and HD Insight.

The Modern Business Applications track is much less bland than it sounds. Here the Microsoft gang will major on SQL Server 2014, Azure and the role they play in Microsoft’s cloud apps story. The session on how to accelerate applications through in-memory computing looks particularly interesting.
