Microsoft mocks Apple and new iPhones in vids it quickly pulls

'Light-hearted poke at Cupertino was off the mark' says Redmond

Microsoft has posted and then pulled several videos in which it mocks Apple's new iPhones.

The seven videos first appeared over the weekend on the Windows Phone YouTube channel. All have since been made private, but as will happen online various folks pinched copies of the vids so we can all enjoy them. Here's one titled “Microsoft iPhone parody: A fly on the wall in Cupertino” posted by VaultFeed

If you can't be bothered watching it, a summary: two Apple employees interview someone about the new iPhones. The questions are ridiculous, make much of very small changes to the new iPhones and the interview subjects aren't impressed.

The other six videos in the series have been widely reported as similarly tedious and unfunny, and were quickly made private so they dropped out of public view.

Microsoft's since told The Next Web the videos were pulled because their “light-hearted poke at our friends from Cupertino” were deemed “off the mark”.

The Reg wouldn't be surprised if the videos were not intended for consumption beyond Redmond. But things always leak these days, as was famously the case for the video below, an hilarious internal critique of Microsoft's design ethic compared to Apple's. ®
