BlackBerry infrastructure hit by ANOTHER outage

BlackBerry says an outage hit network customers today, but claims that services are getting back to normal.

UK readers told us that BlackBerry network services died at 10am this morning. BlackBerry confirmed the problems via Twitter three hours later and provided us with this statement:

We can confirm that our technical teams have addressed the issue and BlackBerry services are returning to normal levels.  We apologize to customers for any inconvenience. We take all service issues – no matter how small – very seriously and through constant monitoring and investigation we aim to ensure our network meets customer expectations.

"We’re seeing some backlogs, but suspect they might have solved," one BES customer told us.

Indian consumers have also been hit, Indian site IBN reports.

BlackBerry's network went down for most of a week in October 2011. The network spluttered again last year, and again in January.
