Carrie Fisher has confirmed she'll be resurrecting Princess Leia for the forthcoming Star Wars VII, teasing that fans will once again be treated to 'the bagel buns and the bikini' which defined the character.

Asked to describe Leia today, some 30 years after she appeared in Return of the Jedi, 56-year-old Fisher classified her as "elderly". She added: "She's in an intergalactic old folks' home."

Despite her advancing years, Leia would "be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle", Fisher said.

Star Wars VII, helmed by JJ Abrams, is due for release in 2015. Fisher will be joined on the big screen by Mark Hamill, who'll reprise his role as Luke Skywalker. If Tinseltown rumours are correct, Harrison Ford will also make an appearance as Han Solo. ®
