Sony snoozes over substandard PS Plus service

No fix after months

Sony's latest pledge to fix Europe's faulty PS Plus subscription service "as quickly as possible" will do little to appease users, who were told the exact same thing two months ago.

The PlayStation Plus subscription is supposed to give PSN users access to heaps of additional content. However, many of these freebies, discounts and themes have failed to load, with broken icons commonplace for months across the network's various channels.

This means a number of European customers have missed out on some of the service's best deals, despite paying at least £12 for access to them.

Disgruntled gamers took to the PlayStation forums in July to voice their frustration with PS+ and were told within 24 hours that "the team are aware of the issue and it is being looked at".

Alas, weeks have become months, and the complaints continue to pour in. Yet Sony has failed to provide a solution or ease concern with further information on the matter.

Customers claim there is no acknowledgement of the problem from Sony tech support, and no sign of refund or compensation. Many say online they will not renew their subscription.

We chased Sony to answer for itself and have been told the same thing: "We're aware of the problem, and are doing everything we can to fix it as quickly as possible… rest assured, it's not something we're taking lightly."

Sorry, Sony, but that's not what a fair few of your customers think. ®
