Orbitsound fills rooms with T9 soundbar

Docked margins

Orbitsound shrunk its audio offerings this week with the T9, a compact followup to its well-received speaker-dock soundbar, the T12.

The Orbitsound T9 boasts power levels of 140W RMS from its array of in-built speakers. These include two 2.5in mid-high drivers, a couple of 1in mid-range spatials and a 1in tweeter, all squeezed into the 30cm-long soundbar. A separate bass unit packs a 6.5in long-throw subwoofer too.

While the T9 can of course be used as a standalone speaker for any input, as well as a dock to play music and charge an iOS device, customers are also able to ping content from handset to TV though the soundbar's built-in AV ports.

Ideal for smaller room setups, the T9 promises a spatial sound that dramatically improves any audio your TV throws out. The company says that unlike 5.1 home cinema setups, listeners enjoy the same balance no matter where they position themselves.

The Orbitsound T9 is available this July for £200. In the meantime, you can read what we thought about its older sibling the Orbitsound T12v3 here on Reg Hardware. ®
