Xbox Live glitch resets players' scores

Microsoft is investigating grumbles from across the Xbox community that players' Achievements and Gamerscores have been wiped.

Gamers posting on the Xbox.com forums are pulling hair out in frustration after Tweeted advice from @Xboxsupport - which told gamers to re-download profiles from the Xbox menu - failed to resolve the issue.

However, Microsoft this morning provided Reg Hardware with an alternative solution.

"Affected users should log out and back in to restore their scores. While this should fix the issue, updated Gamerscores may not be reflected on Xbox.com for a couple of hours.

"We’re working on this and expect it to be fully resolved soon."

This week it was announced that from April, Xbox Live Arcade games developers will have the option to up Gamerpoints wins from 200 to 400, with the addition of up to 30 Achievements. From June, this will become mandatory. ®
