Samsung Series 9 skinny laptop priced for Blighty

'World's thinnest' claim

Samsung's refreshed Series 9 laptop has been given a release date, with the compact notebook set to land on consumers' laps as early as next week.

The second-generation Series 9 returns to the fray as the world's thinnest premium notebook, the company claims.

The unibody 13in device is just shy of 13mm in height and weighs a mere 1.16kg. It boasts an Intel Core i5 processor and up to 4GB of memory with a 128GB SSD.

The new Series 9 now runs the distance with up to ten hours' battery life and features a display with anti-reflective coating for a non-gloss look.

There's also a Fast Boot Feature which has been improved to start the machine up in just 1.4 seconds, while the company promises an improved browser, twice the speed of its S9 predecessor.

The Samsung Series 9 hits John Lewis shops on 25 February for £1200 and will roll out to other UK retailers later in the year. ®
