Rovio launches Angry Birds into space

Pigs might fly

Angry Birds has covered the Earth several times over, so Rovio has taken the next logical step in its development and sent the franchise into space.

The upcoming Angry Birds Space is apparently the "biggest game launch since the original", according to Rovio's blog.

Of course, another part of the galaxy brings with it completely different mechanics and the company promises "innovative new gameplay" including zero gravity levels and slow-motion puzzles.

For the first time in the game's history, though, this Angry Birds' outing will launch "simultaneously in mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing".

It'll also partner with NASA and National Geographic for the launch.

Rovio has upped a new website for Angry Birds Space and a 20 second teaser video hit YouTube recently. You can have a ganders at that below.
