Assange™ to present own TV show

Dubs self 'revolutionary figure', 'pioneer for justice'

Famous WikiLeaks frontman Julian Assange says he will soon be presenting an unnamed weekly TV show via unspecified channels to a vast global audience.

According to a press release "authorized by Julian"*, Assange is "one of the world’s most recognizable revolutionary figures ... a pioneer for a more just world and a victim of political repression".

In tinned quotes, the revolutionary pioneer and victim adds:

“Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it. Are we heading towards utopia or dystopia and how we can set our paths? This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before.”

Assange says his guests will be "iconoclasts, visionaries and power insiders" and that his unnamed show is already licensed to broadcasters commanding more than 600 million viewers.

Assange is currently free on bail in the UK pending the outcome of attempts by Swedish prosecutors to extradite him for questioning regarding alleged sexual offences. The Supreme Court is to conduct hearings on the matter next month, after the case was referred to it by lower UK courts due to "general public importance".

Assange has not been charged with any crime, nor has the USA made any legal moves against him.

Bradley Manning, the junior US soldier who allegedly supplied the bulk of the interesting classifed material released by WikiLeaks and Assange, has been charged with a raft of offences by military prosecutors and is expected to face a court martial. If found guilty of the more serious military crimes (such as aiding the enemy) he could theoretically receive the death sentence, though prosecutors have said they intend to seek life imprisonment only. ®

*Curiously, as Assange's application to trademark himself last year specifically stated that he would be engaged in "publication of texts other than publicity texts".
