Lenovo primed with keyboard-connectable tablet
Inspired by Asus?
CES 2012
Continuing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich theme at CES comes the Lenovo IdeaTab S2, a dockable tablet rather in the style of Asus' Eee Pad Transformer Prime.
The Prime, of course, comes with Nvidia's new five-core Tegra 3 processor. The 10.1in Lenovo IdeaTab S2, however, comes with a plain old dual-core chip, running at 1.5GHz. It also pack in 1GB of Ram, and either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of Flash storage.
The S2 will be made available with a keyboard dock that includes an additional battery - just as the Prime's clip-on Qwerty deck does - extending overall life up to 20 hours.
While it lacks the five-core processing power of its Asus rival, the S2 is slightly lighter than an iPad 2 and measures just 8.7mm thick.
The IdeaTab S2 is available immediately in China and will be heading these ways at a later date. Prices have yet to be announced. ®
