Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned in Germany

Court sides with Apple, but ban not pan-European

The German court has banned the sale of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the country, but not across Europe.

Judge Johanna Brueckner-Hoffmann, presiding, pointed to a "clear impression of similarity" between the Apple iPad and the Samsung tablet, Agence France Presse reports.

Apple claims Samsung copied the look of the popular iPad for the more recent Galaxy Tabs, including the 10.1 and the 7.7, the latter unveiled at the IFA consumer electronics show last week.

And subsequently removed from the Samsung stand on the orders of the court.

Good job Apple missed the Galaxy Tab 8.9 on the T-Mobile stand.

Samsung denies the Apple charge. ®
