White iPhone 4 'in production'

More moles speak out

A claim that the white Apple iPhone 4 will be out by the end of the month have been corroborated - sort of - by presumably different moles who say the handset has now gone into production.

The sources told Reuters that Taiwan's Foxconn - Apple's customary iPhone manufacturing partner - has the gig. The phones will actually be made by Foxconn's mainland China wing, Hon Hai.

A trio of unofficial sources were yesterday cited by Bloomberg as saying the white phone will be out, in the US at least, before April is up.

Originally, the white iPhone 4 was to have debut alongside the black one, in June 2010. But Apple kept putting its release off, time and time again.

Last month, Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller Tweeted that the oft-delayed shiny white smartphone would be out this spring. He was re-iterating an announcement made by Apple in December 2010. ®
