Oxford gets electric car charge-up network

Milton Keynes too

Oxford residents can now buy electric cars safe in the knowledge they have access to at least 20 public re-charging points in the city.

Folk in Milton Keynes are getting them too.

Both installations are being run by Chargemaster and fed by Southern Electric Power Distribution. The Oxford roll-out is being pushed by BMW subsidiary Mini alongside its e-car trial, which is taking place in the Thames Valley area.

The 32A points are located at the Westgate, Union Street, Headington, Worcester Street, Summertown and St Clements car parks, plus the Thornhill and Pear Tree Park and Ride car parks. A further post is available at BMW’s T-Building car park at Horspath Road, Cowley. Points are set to be placed in Redbridge and Seacourt Park and Ride car parks.

Milton Keynes' first Chargemaster posts can be found near the shopping centre, in Avebury Boulevard. ®
