T-Mobile tots up cost of £199 iPad 3G
Operator pitches tablet subsidy
T-Mobile has become the latest UK mobile phone network to subsidise Apple's iPad.
No great surprise, that, since fellow Everything Everywhere-owned cellco, Orange, has already done so, but at last the details of the T-Mobile deal are out.
On offer, just the 16GB iPad, available at the subsidised price of £199 in return for signing a two-year contract.
New customers will pay £27 a month during that period - existing ones will only cough up £25 each month. Both will get 1GB of data transfers each month to be used at any time, plus a further 1GB to use between Midnight and 10am.
T-Mobile's prices put the overall cost of the tablet at £847 for new customers, or £799 for existing ones.
The other networks? You'll cough up £848 in total to Orange, but only £800 to Three, which gives you a monthly data transfer allowance of 15GB to Orange and T-Mobile's 2GB. We'd happily pay the extra pound Three wants, in order to gain that larger data transfer tally. ®
