Avatar tops Sky Xmas 3D bill
Three-dimensional Crimble
Sky would like you to know that it will be broadcasting Avatar in 3D on Christmas Eve - the first time in the world that the blockbuster will be shown on telly in stereoscopic format.
Those of us without 3D TVs can watch the film in two dimensions - in which it's no less enjoyable, we have to say - on Sky's standard-defintion and HD Movies Premiere channels.
Or on DVD or Blu-ray, if you've already availed yourself of one.
Other 3D treats Sky will be showing over Christmas include ageing rockers at the Prince’s Trust Rock Gala concert, Tim Burton's just-misses-the-mark Alice in Wonderland, and all three Toy Story movies, which are always worth a watch.
Footie fans will get 3D Barclays Premier League matches: Chelsea vs Manchester United, Man City vs Everton, Arsenal vs Chelsea and Liverpool vs Wolves. ®
