Three! Yahoo! execs! quit! purple! palace!

'Stay calm, I have a plan,' says embattled Bartz

Yahoo! boss Carol Bartz confirmed that the company’s US head and two other execs were leaving the web outfit yesterday.

Hilary Schneider’s departure along with the resignations of media veep Jimmy Pitaro and audience wonk David Ko were announced by Bartz to all Yahoo! employees on Thursday, after All Things Digital reported the trio of exits earlier this week.

Bartz, according to All Things Dig, started her memo to staff by joking: “Carol from the foxhole here.”

She asked Yahoo! workers to “stay calm” before saying that the firm had “a good plan in place”.

The CEO, who has faced sharp criticism about her close to two-year tenure at Yahoo!, said she could “roll with the punches”. (Though that would require quite a large fox hole - Ed)

Yahoo! plans to replace Schneider by the end of 2010, while Ko’s successor will be Raymond Stem – the firm’s current biz development and partnerships chief.

It’s unclear whether Yahoo! will fill the job left vacant by Pitaro, but the company made no mention of his empty seat in an official statement yesterday. ®
