Philips pumps out 7605 LCD TV series into the UK
LED to the side
Philips has begun flogging its latest collection of LCD TVs, the 7605 range, in the UK.
At 42mm deep and available in 32, 37, 40 and 46in versions, the 7605s are the first Philips mid-range sets to use edge-lit LED technology. Prices range from £850 - £1500
With a contrast ratio of 500,000:1, a 100Hz panel and Pixel Precise HD picture processing, Philips claim to handle blur free imaging "no matter how fast the action".
Ambilight, a well known backlight feature in Philips TVs, has been improved, adapting to suit those who don't have white walls.
For those who crave online content, the company's NetTV functionality is included - a first for the 7000 series. Additionally, the sets stream music, pictures and video from any computer on the network. For an extra £50, users can pick up a dongle and do it all wireless.
