LG confirms Android tablet

Q4 debut

LG is preparing a tablet that'll run Google's Android OS.

Details are sparse, but we can say - because LG's South Korean website says so - that the "tablet PC" will debut in Q4.

Reading between the lines of the site's quirky Google Korean-to-English translation, the consumer electronics giant is still in the process of finalising the tablet's specifications, but it does believe it can come up with something that will standout from the crowd.

Reference to the tablet comes in an announcement of a series of Android-based smartphones for LG's domestic market. However, the tablet appears to be aimed at overseas markets - as is its already promised upcoming Windows Phone Series 7 handset, which it also mentions. ®
