Loud sex ASBO woman spared jail again

Final warning over raucous rumpy-pumpy

The Tyne and Wear woman who simply cannot put a sock in it while making the beast with two backs has been spared jail for a second time.

Caroline Cartwright, 49, was slapped with an ASBO back in April 2009, ordering her to refrain from "making excessive noise, knocking, shouting, screaming or vocalisation that can be heard in neighbouring properties or outside the house".

This had little effect on her and hubby Steve's raucous lovemaking, since she was subsequently cuffed for breaching the order and hauled into court, where she was handed eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months.

Cartwright was back in Newcastle Crown Court yesterday where she admitted two further breaches of the ASBO, "the first for having excessively noisy sex with her husband on March 14 this year and the second for playing loud music the following day", the Telegraph explains.

Next door neighbours Rachel O'Connor and Vince Wilson were watching telly when Cartwright got back on the job. Penny Morland, prosecuting, explained: "They were watching television in their living room when they heard screaming from the defendant next door. It last for fourteen minutes or so.

"Then when Mr Wilson returned home on Monday, he was aware of loud music coming from next door, and called the police."

Recorder Jeremy Freedman dished Cartwright "a longer sentence of 12 weeks imprisonment, but suspended for 12 months for a second time".

He told her: "It's clear to this court that with your noisy love-making and playing loud music you have made your neighbours lives thoroughly miserable, disturbing their sleep so they are tired when they go to work and generally interfering with their lives.

"People are entitled to live peacefully and not being exposed to excessively irritating and upsetting noise. It is in my judgement it was thoroughly selfish behaviour on your part and it is not acceptable."

He warned: "This court is giving you one final chance, you know what sort of noise will be a disturbance to your neighbours. You have been given one last chance - don't come back to this Crown Court." ®
