HP intros multi-touch tablet
More options than you can shake a stylus at
HP has taken a typical 12in tablet PC form factor and built in not only Intel's latest Core i5 and i7 mobile processors but also given the machine multi-touch capability. The result: the EliteBook 2470p.
You'll need Windows 7 to make the most of the 1280 x 800 "outdoor view" multi-touch screen, but HP is also offering older OSes as options. In fact, HP's datasheet lists a host of options, from internal storage - HDD or SSD, Sata or Sata 2 - through optical - external or internal - to a handful of wireless alternatives.
HP's Elitebook 2740p: spec it to suit
Standard features include Gigabit Ethernet, an ExpressCard 34 slot, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, Firewire and a spill-resistant keyboard "with drains".
The 290 x 212 x 32mm machine weighs 1.72g - more if you opt for 3G support. It contains a six-cell battery.
