Avatar in your living room

CES 2010 LG today showed off what it claimed is the world's first single-lens 3D projector capable of casting a 1080p image onto your wall.

LG's CF3D: World first?

The CF3D uses Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) technology to generate the image - the actual display is a 15mm panel deep within the machine. The picture is interpolated from 60f/s to 120f/s for smoother motion, and once projected has a contrast ratio of 7000:1. The CF3D's brightness runs to 2500 lumens.

The unit has one USB and a pair of HDMI 1.3 ports for content feeds.

LG didn't say when the CF3D will go on sale in the UK - or how much it'll cost when it does. ®
