How to optimise your business comms

It's not about the bills, baby

On Demand No doubt you've got comms bills for your business that, one way or another, you want to simplify, control and reduce - while balancing them with the increasing demands of your organisation. It's not just that everyone has mobiles which is a challenge - they've become the norm so you're probably coping anyway. But what about global IM, solid email, SaaS apps across mobile platforms and all the rest? It doesn't get easier as time goes by that's for sure.

The billing side of comms might be one of the key drivers for a review of the operations, but when it comes to implementation, it's arguably one of the last things you should be thinking about - certainly that was the thinking from our recent webcast. Last week we had Jon Collins from Freeform Dynamics in a studio with our man Tim Phillips and Jeremy Sneller from NEC. They were joined by 150 live viewers from The Register readership and together they thrashed out the idea of optimising business communications in the modern business.

The three of them look at the unfulfilled promise of unified comms and then get into the real meat and potatoes - taking the approach that comms should improve decision-making and collaboration and by using this goal as the start of a project you can deliver significant value. It is, of course, all about harnessing the right kit at the right point in a process and driving benefits from there.

The one hour session received some great feedback from the viewers. The session also goes through a lot of the data that was produced from a Reg reader survey - so it's all real world data from people that are managing comms in their business. It makes for compelling viewing.

They conclude with some straight talking on whether it's all actually worth the effort. Judge for yourself right here. ®
