Samsung's latest phone should appeal to brand junkies

Images of what’s rumoured to be a Samsung-manufactured, Giorgio Armani-branded handset have appeared online, revealing a slider phone with gold bezel and Braille-like gold back plate.

The phone – rumoured to be officially called the SPH-W8200 - also appears to have a gold ‘Home’ button.

Must-have branding aside, the phone sports a 3.1in touchscreen and 5Mp camera – which should come in handy for snapping a rival label’s designs as they’re paraded down the catwalk.

The handset’s 100 x 57 x 15mm measurements mean it’s a little wider than most catwalk models, but the on-board HSDPA support will surely appeal to well-connected fashionistas who need to remain, well, well-connected.

HSDPA connectivity and a 5Mp camera

Bluetooth is on-board and data is stored to Micro SD memory cards, while pictures hint at the presence of a user-facing camera – probably to give owners the option of making video calls.

A digital TV tuner is also rumoured to be included on the phone.

Samsung and Giorgio Armani haven’t confirmed the phone’s existence, so a potential launch date or price is unknown. ®
