First solar-powered noise-cancelling headset launched
Carbon-free calls
The world’s first solar-powered Bluetooth headset featuring noise cancellation technology has been launched, helping callers reduce their carbon footprint while out and about.
SolarVoice: solar-powered noise cancellation
Solar-powered headsets aren’t new – the first launched back in 2007 — but the SolarVoice 908 from firm i.Tech Dynamic is apparently the first to filter out background noise – rather than simply block it from entering your lughole.
SolarVoice is also compatible with A2DP, meaning you’ll be able to stream songs to the headset from compatible mobile phones and MP3 players.
The headset’s other notable features include charging status indicators, a claimed five hours of talk time, infinite standby time while in "optimum" sunlight and – in case the sun don’t shine – an internal lithium-ion battery charged over USB.
SolarVoice is available now in North America for $80 (£48/€48). A UK price hasn’t shone through, yet. ®
