JVC's Everio GZ-X900: ready to take video and stills

That’s because the Everio GZ-X900 can shoot 1920 x 1080 video in AVCHD format in one mode, but can also capture 9Mp stills in another.

It’s worth noting that you’ll also be able to capture still images while shooting full HD video, although photo quality will be limited to 5Mp.

The camcorder-cum-compact will shoot video at 120, 300 or 600f/s and includes anti-shake and face-detection features – although it’s unclear if the latter can be applied to video footage.

Content is stored onto SD memory cards, which is probably why JVC’s able to claim that the 37 x 66 x 124mm gadget can fit into your shirt pocket.

JVC’s Everio GZ-X900 will be available in June for $1000 (£705/€795). ®
