Danish sex museum loses wood

The latest victim of the global financial apocalypse is, sadly for aficionados of rumpy-pumpy-related artefacts, Copenhagen's Museum Erotica which will close within a week if it doesn't find enough cash to maintain wood.

According to a report in the Copenhagen Post, the city's council has withdrawn funding for the 15-year-old "unique venue", and it's three million kroner (£360,000 or 9,027,313,331 Vietnamese dongs) short of completing a renovation project.

Hanne Stensgaard, the museum’s chief exec, lamented to the paper that if someone doesn't come up with a money shot pronto, it will have to offload its 1,500 sex-related exhibits.

He said: “We’ve been hopeful [of securing investors] for a long time and miracles can happen, but if we don’t get the funding within a week, we will have to close. We think it’s very important that people know about sexual and erotic history as it defines many gender roles today."
