German bawdy house offers free entry for life

Cologne überbrothel Pascha has been surprised at the number of punters rushing to avail themselves of its free-membership-for-life promotion - unsurprisingly since customers have to have the knocking shop's name tattooed on their arm to redeem the offer.

Pascha's manager didn't expect many takers for the bold initiative, but "more than 40 men have already come forward to have the name inked onto their arm in large blue letters, and the brothel's tattoo artist is having to work extra shifts to keep up with demand", the Telegraph explains.

Among those looking to earn free passage was 46-year-old Herbert Manske, who said: "My wife doesn't mind. I get free drinks all night and can look at all the pretty girls."

And looking is all Manske will be doing, unless he stumps extra for a roll in the hay. While the bawdy house's offer includes free entry (normally €5) and "discounts on other services like lap dances", it doesn't encompass the favours of the 120-plus prostitutes who are self-employed and operate independently.

Those of you who keep abreast of the comings-and-goings of German shagatoria will recall that the 2006 World Cup prompted the opening of the Artemis facility "yards from the main stadium in Berlin". Pascha responded with a footie promotion of its own, hanging "a huge high banner from its roof aimed at luring international football fans".

The banner boasted the flags of every competing nation "including Iran and Saudi Arabia, sparking protests from Muslim groups", the Telegraph notes. ®
