Brit couple divorce over Sadville infidelity

A British woman is divorcing her husband after catching his Second Life avatar having cybersex with other virtual women.

Amy Taylor, 28, told the Metro that her four-year (real-life) marriage to David Pollard, 40, has ended after twice walking in on his online adultery.

The couple met online in 2003, and within months, they were married both in real life and within the game of Second Life.

However, she claims her estranged husband's online identity, David Barmy, couldn't keep it in his virtual pants. In February last year, she caught her husband's avatar having sex with a call girl in the game.

"I looked at the screen and saw his character having sex," she told the publication. "It's cheating, as far as I'm concerned."

She later accepted her husband's pleas for forgiveness, although at one point her online persona, Laura Sky, hired a virtual private detective to confirm his virtual fidelity. Having passed the test, she assumed all was well again until earlier this year.

In April, she caught her husband's avatar cuddling on a virtual sofa with a new online flame.

"He confessed he'd been talking to this woman in America for weeks and said he didn't love me any more," she said.

Fortunately for Taylor, online romance is a tree with many fruits. She said after being down for a while, she's found a new man on the online game, World of Warcraft. ®
