Nintendo unveils Wii Music

Sounds good?

The Wii’s Nunchuck is set to become a musical instrument, because Nintendo has launched a musical videogame for the console.

Wii Music: get musical, virtually

Wii Music, which borrows many of its ideas from the Guitar Hero series, lets gamers re-create any one of the 50 bundled tracks by using the Remote and Nunchuck as though they were one of over 60 different musical instruments.

For example, you could create your own version of the Super Mario Bros theme tune, using the controllers as though they were striking a set of steel drums.

All your musical masterpieces are performed by on-screens avatars, the performances of which can be saved and given individual virtual record sleeves.

The multiplayer title has several game modes, including “Improvise” and “Jam” where players perform in a six-member band.

A virtual drum kit also lets you rid yourself of any pent-up frustration, or you can even try your hand at conducting an orchestra.

Nintendo’s Wii Music will be launched in Europe on 14 November. A UK price hasn’t been released yet.
