Sainsbury's launch console price war

If you’ve been saving up for an Xbox 360 or Wii then get yourself down to Sainsbury’s - the grocer’s lastest console offer is sure to make your life taste better.

Despite Microsoft only recently cutting the cost of all Xbox 360 models, Sainsbury’s has reduced prices even further and will now sell the Arcade for just £100 ($177/€128) – that’s £30 less than Microsoft’s RRP.

Sainsbury’s has also cut the Premium model’s price to £140 ($248/€179), whereas Microsoft has recommended a price tag of £170. Unfortunately, Sainsbury’s hasn’t changed the Elite’s price, so you’ll still have to fork out £230 ($408/€295) if you want the flagship Xbox 360.

Nintendo fans are also in for a treat, because the supermarket giant’s also slashed the Wii’s price down to £150. It usually retails for around £180 ($319/€231).

You’d better hurry though, because Sainsbury’s console cost cut only lasts until 12 October.
