Nintendo DSi's battery life shorter than DS Lite's

It’s emerged that the upcoming Nintendo DSi handheld console won’t sport the same battery life as its predecessor, the DS Lite.

According to figures from website Kotaku, the DSi’s battery life is shorter across all available levels of display brightness.

For example, the DS Lite will run for between 15 and 19 hours when the screen’s set at the lowest brightness setting, but the DSi will only stay alive for between nine and 14 hours on the same setting.

If you run the DSi on its highest screen brightness then you’ll only get around three to four hours' battery life. The DS Lite will give you between five and eight hours' play.

You’ll also have to be more patient with the DSi too, because it takes up to three hours to recharge. The DS Lite takes half an hour less.

Nintendo’s DSi console is expected to land in Europe during spring next year, but a UK price hasn’t been given yet.
