Sony intros good-looks laptop
The Blu-ray VGN-NS11Z/S
Modern laptops must offer functionality and good looks, so Sony’s launched a Vaio notebook that it hopes will hit both notes.
Sony's VGN-NS11Z/S: 15.4in display and a Blu-ray drive
The VGN-NS11Z/S has a 15.4in, 1280 x 800 LCD display that features the manufacturer’s X-black technology for displaying richer colours, better brightness and a higher contrast that its rivals do. If the screen’s able to do all that's promised, then watching SD content would be pointless, so Sony’s chucked in a Blu-ray combo drive.
Under the hood is a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, with sits on an 800MHz frontside bus. There’s 4GB of memory on the machine and the display’s driven by AMD’s ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3430 graphics chip.
There’s 320GB of HDD storage to play with, and you’ll be able to connect wirelessly over 802.11n Wi-Fi. Sony’s integrated a webcam into the laptop’s lid, and the Vaio has four USB ports.
Sony hasn’t given a release date or price for the VGN-NS11Z/S yet.
