It comes at a price though

Olympus has expanded its Mju range by unveiling a snapper with a sumptuous 7x optical zoom.

Olympus' Mju 1060 can recognise 16 faces

The ten-megapixel Mju 1060 also has a larger-than-average LCD - it's 3in - which should provide enough space to look at images recalled from the camera’s Micro SD card slot.

Up to 16 faces can be picked out by the camera’s face-detection mode, and don’t worry if your hands are prone to shaking, because the camera also includes image stabilisation technology.

Although high-speed snapping is possible with a nine frames per second (f/s) sequence shooting, the Mju1060 can also record 640 x 480 (VGA) resolution movies at up to 30f/s.

Olympus’ Mju 1060 will be available next month in “Starry Silver”, “Midnight Black” and “Cyan Green”. It will cost £260 ($480/€330).
