Levi's sews together 3G phone
No twisted cover though
If you didn’t manage to pocket one of Levi’s ultra-limited edition Red Tab mobile phones recently, then don’t worry because the jeans manufacturer’s stitched together a 3G model.
The Levi’s 3G/Edge mobile isn’t quite as stylish as earlier incarnations, but users do get a similar metal backing featuring the Levi’s logo, and a “soft touch finishing” – we just hope it’s not black denim.
Users also get about 200 hours of talk time from the 900/1800/1900MHz band GSM/GPRS/Edge phone, which is capable of making 2100MHz 3G connections too.

A two-megapixel camera’s built into the slider's body, which operates much like Samsung G600 - reviewed here. The denim dialler’s images are stored on a Micro SD card and the expandable memory can also be used for holding MP3 files. Music can be streamed to other devices over Bluetooth.
The phone has been manufactured by ModeLabs, which created the original Levi’s phone, and the company said Levi’s will offer the new 3G model with a selection of extra goodies, including everything from a “Bluetooth headset, to wrist straps, necklets and different colours of denim and leather pouches”.
The Levi’s 3G/Edge mobile will be released on Orange in France later this month, but a UK price or release date hasn’t been given yet.
