Sony 'shuffles' out multi-colour Cyber-shot T2 line-up

Sony's upcoming Cyber-shot DSC-T2 could become the iPod Shuffle of the digicam world when it goes on sale in Europe next month: the metal-clad machine will be available in a range of Shuffle-like colours.

Not that the camera's specification is cut down. Each T2 incorporates an eight-megapixel image sensor placed behind a Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens and feeding the camera's 2.7in display. It ticks all the right boxes for features, with anti-blur technology, face detection and high sensetivity shooting at up to ISO 3200.

However, Sony focused on the T2's blogger-friendly Sharemark technology, which it claimed makes preparing snaps and videos for the likes of MySpace and Flikr easier by automatically reszing them and adding tags ready for the time the camera's connected to a PC for uploading.

The T2 contains 4GB of storage, so there's plenty of space for pics - 1250 of them at full 8Mp resolution - though there's also a Memory Stick Pro Duo slot for more.

It did say the camera supports HD TV output, though the cable you need is an optional extra.

The T2 goes on sale early in November in a choice of metallic black, white, blue, green and pink. Its price has yet to be set.
