The Arcade has an HDMI port and ships with one wireless controller and a 256MB memory card. It also comes with five full-version games, including Pac-Man Championship Edition.

Microsoft’s marketing the Arcade as a “family friendly” model, signing agreements with several movie studios to offer over 100 episodes of family-oriented TV shows, such as Looney Tunes cartoons, over Xbox Live. Existing parental controls for DVDs, games and Xbox Live content also feature on the Arcade model.

The system is available in the US from today for $280 (£140/€160) and in the UK from Friday for £200 (€219/$390).
