Alcatel has slashed the price of its latest no-frills mobile phone - but only for three days. Over the UK Bank Holiday weekend, the already cheap as chips OT-E201 will sell for less than the price of a takeaway.
Alcatel's OT-E210: yours for eight quid, but only this weekend
The handset was originally launched earlier this month, at the bargain-basement price of £15. However, Alcatel's three-day price spectacular will see the phone offered for just £8, possibly in an attempt to cash-in on any boozy Brits heading abroad and who need to stay in touch, but who don't want to risk losing their all-singing, all-dancing handsets.
No one would lose too much sleep if they misplaced the E201, as it doesn't feature a camera, a memory card slot, music capabilities or even web browsing. But, it does boast an element of retro charm and harks back to the days when phones had just one primary function: making calls.
The OT-E201 is available now on the Orange network and can be found in Woolworths, presumably in the 'under a tenner' section.
